Made in Canada by Homestead house, a Canadian Family run company, since 1988, Milk paint is an ancient all-natural paint containing milk protein (casein), limestone, clay, chalk, and natural pigments. It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications and is naturally mold resistant. Milk paint provides a completely breathable coating and is ideal for painting wood, plastering, drywall, and a variety of other surfaces. It is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and contains no VOCs. Milk paint comes in powder.

Milk paint gives you the ability to easily add distressing, chipping, flaking or rubbed appearance to give your pieces a one-of-a-kind vintage look.

-OR- use the Ultra-grip bonding agent for a non-distressed finish. A Milk Paint finish is unique and can range from a solid color to a stain, it all depends on how much water you add.

Each 230g ziplock bag (one Quart) will contain enough powder to mix up a full quart of paint, which covers approximately 70 sq. feet. Simply mix this powder with water- it’s that easy!

If you have a large project (kitchen cabinets, walls...) or paint furniture as your business you might be interested in our 5 Pound bags available on request. They will cover approx. 700 to 750 sq. feet.

Mixing: Add 1 part milk paint powder to approximately 1 part water. The drying time is approximately 30 minutes. Wow! Lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to create a smooth surface. Remove dust. A top coat is required to protect the paint and bring out the richness and depth of the color. We recommend Fusion Hemp Oil for a 100% natural finish or Fusion Clear Furniture Wax for a hand-rubbed appearance. Non-yellowing Fusion Tough Coat or a polyurethane or varnish of your choosing may also be applied.
